Obituary for Charles Mead Jr. Charles T. Mead Jr. June 19, 1937 – June 10, 2018 Resident of Evesham Township, New Jersey Chuck, aka “Pa’s Trouble” was brought home to the Lord surrounded by his family on June 10, 2018. Born in Albany NY to Charles Sr and Grace Mead were also his siblings Elizabeth Ann, Genevieve Grace, Michael Peter and Paul David, all of whom he deeply loved. Chuck was a proud Graduate of the Christian Brothers Academy in Albany NY where he proudly served as the lead rifle man on the Rifle Squad.

Chuck was nominated and accepted to the West Point Military Academy but declined to pursue his passion of Aviation at Purdue University where he completed his Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. During Chuck’s time at Purdue, he met his soul mate of 39 years, Susan Philips (1/28/2002) who he married on September 15, 1963. Chuck began his successful career with North American Aviation, United Aircraft, Piasecki Helicopters, and Naval Air Engineering Center all of which led to his 44 year tenure at the Naval Air Systems Command where he retired as the Director Weapons Systems/Platform Management Division where he received Congressional recognition for his commitment and service to the United States Navy.

Along with Chuck’s passion of Aviation, His largest of pride came from his family. Chuck was relentless in providing nothing but the very best in opportunities, education and instilling work ethic in his children. For Chuck, failure was never an option and he expected nothing but your very best.

Chuck was a proud member of St. Thomas More Church in Cherry Hill, NJ where he served as Usher for over 20 years, was a former USAA Swimming Official, and was a dedicated Volunteer at Virtua Hospital Voorhees where he took great pride in helping people. In Chuck’s younger years, he enjoyed building model Railroads for his children as it brought him back to his youth with his own father who was an Engineer for the New York Central Railroad. Chuck is survived by and eternally remembered by his close companions and children, Charles T. Mead III, Kathyrn J. Mead, Patrick F. Mead (Maureen Mead), Timothy O. Mead (Fawn Mead); His 8 Grandchildren; Ryan Mead, Meghan Mead, Mallory Mead, Lily Mead, Sara Mead, Elliot Mead, Daphne Mead and Owen Mead.

As 2 Timothy 4:7 states; You have fought the good fight, You have finished the race, You have kept the faith. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday June 13 from 6pm to 8pm at BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd Marlton and again on Thursday June 14th from 9:30am to 10:15am at St. Isaac Jaques Church 349 Evesboro-Medford Rd Marlton, NJ 08053.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am at the church. Internment will immediately follow at Locustwood Memorial Park Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the Mead family would greatly appreciate donations to the JW Foundation Inc in honor the Susan J. Mead Memorial Scholarship established by Charles.
