Obituary of Charles Blansett Charles “Charlie” D. Blansett, 87, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 4, 1931 in Latrobe, a son of the late Jacob and Ruth (Thompson) Blansett. Prior to his retirement, Charlie was a machinist at Kennametal having 43 years of service.

He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe. He enjoyed square dancing and country line dancing with his late wife Dolly. The two of them could always be found outside working in the yard together.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dolores “Dolly” L. (Magretti) Blansett, his sister Donna Miller, and his son-in-law Eric Popella. He is survived by three children: Cheryl Rose and her husband Jack of Latrobe, Don Blansett and his wife Darlene of Murrysville, and Tamara Popella of Latrobe; ten grandchildren, Lindsey Rose (Mike Fullem), Ramie Swiderski (Rick), Michael Quidetto (Devin), Calley Nero (Dave), Sunny Capaldi (Nick), and Savannah, Alexis, Jake, Tanner, and Summer Popella; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Craig Taylor. Charlie’s family will receive friends Saturday, July 21st from 10 until 11 AM in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 331 Weldon Street, Latrobe, PA 15650, at which time a memorial service will be held with the church pastors officiating.

Rather than flowers, his family requests contributions be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above address. Private inurnment will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. The Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc. in Latrobe is assisting the family with the arrangements.
