Charles G. Martin passed on January 16, 2019. He was born in Memphis, TN on November 30, 1943. He was the son of the late Garvis and Dorothy Martin.

He was a 1962 graduate of Bowling Green High School. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Andrew Perkins. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda (Stice) Martin, his daughters Terri (Doug) Perkins, Tracy Martin and his son Todd (Jennifer) Martin.

He has 7 grandchildren, Seth and Jacob Perkins, Tyler, Garrett, and Ellie Falk, Keegan and Kendall Martin, and many nieces and nephews. He worked at the Bowling Green Post Office for 30 years. He retired from the 118th Aero Medical Evacuation Squadron with 30 years of service.

He was a veteran of Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He received many accommodations, The Lieutenant General Charles Roadman II Outstanding Mirror Face Contribution Award, The Air Force Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster), The Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, For Outstanding Support of America’s Service Member During Operation Iraq Freedom, Certificate of Appreciation on success of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He retired at the age of 60 as a Master Staff Sergeant.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1:00 pm at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday 11:00 am until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bowling Green Gardens.
