Marie Downey, age 74, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, entered into rest Friday, January 11, 2019 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky amidst the loving support of her family and friends. Marie was a native of Logan County, Kentucky and was born July 25, 1944. She is preceded in death by her parents Lester Bradley and Daphna Shelton Bradley, two sisters and one brother.

Marie was a Seamstress and Inspector for Fruit of the Loom for many years. Along with her husband Stephen Downey, she was an original charter member of Bible Center Church in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was the song leader because she enjoyed singing for her Lord and going to church.

Marie loved her husband, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Stephen Downey, daughters Sheila Fulcher (Charles), Anita Coursey, Kathy Towe (Donnie), son Steve Downey (Carol), sister Marjorie Bradley Farmer Parrish (Floyd), and brother Stanley Bradley (Robin). Eight wonderful grandchildren, MaLissa, LaTrishia, Calvin, Elizabeth, Heather, Matthew, Chelsea, Austin, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Monday, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Tuesday, 9:00 am until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bowling Green Gardens.

Expressions of Sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
