Charlotte R. Shoup, 98, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, January 31st 2019 at Amber Ridge Assisted Living, Moline. Services will be 10 am Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Charlotte was born in Rock Island, Ill.

on January 20, 1921, a daughter of Martin J. and Alma M. Etzel Frank. She graduated from Rock Island High School, class of 1939. Charlotte married Donald C. Shoup on April 10, 1948 in Galesburg.

He died May 5, 1982. Charlotte worked 32 years at Servus Rubber, Rock Island. She was a member of Church of Peace United Church of Christ, Rock Island.

Those left to cherish her memory include her grandchildren, Donald (Janet) Shoup, Florida and Denise Douglas, Florida; two step-grandchildren, Robert (Amanda) McCleary and Michael (Jillian) McCleary; eight great-grandchildren; special daughter-in-law, Carol Shoup, Rock Island; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronald Shoup and siblings, Vern Frank, Gilman Frank, Ruth Russell and Norma Williams.
