Paul L. Davis, 73, of Rock Island, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment services for Mr. Davis will be held at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.

Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Metropolitan Opera, New York, NY. Paul was born on July 16, 1945 in Davenport, the son of Charles and Frances Felske Davis.

Paul graduated from Rock Island High School in 1963 and graduated from Monmouth College in 1967. Paul went on to Florida State University on an assistance ship program as a mathematics major. Mr. Davis worked as a computer programmer/analyst for the State of Florida, Department of Labor and Employment Security.

Upon his return to Rock Island, health issues caused early retirement. Paul was an avid reader and collector of books. Paul enjoyed listening to classical music, especially opera and jazz and watching basketball and baseball.

Paul had a keen interest in national news and politics. In the past 8 years Paul had been a resident of The Fort Armstrong, and then Rosewood Care Center. The family would like to Thank the staff at each of those facilities for their concern and care of Paul.

Survivors include his brother and sister in law, Perry and Linda Davis, Rock Island and several cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
