Ruth Ann Miller, 70, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at her home. A joint Memorial Service for Ruth and her late husband, Roger, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave. , Rock Island.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of Ruth’s son, John Miller.

Ruth was born October 5, 1948 in Moline, a daughter of Thomas Calvin and Mary Catherine (Russell) Hull. Ruth married Roger Miller on July 1, 1970 in Rock Island. Roger passed away May 30, 2012.

She retired from Midland Press in 2007. Ruth was a member of First Covenant Church, Moline. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Paula Sue Miller, Lakewood, CO, John (Melissa) Miller, Rock Island; stepsons, Roger (Lara) Miller and Scott (Deanna) Miller; grandchildren, Charlotte Sturgeon, Gavin Miller and Tanner Miller; sisters, Carol Gotthardt, Donna Grieve, Geneseo, Mary Catherine Williams, Moline; special friend of over 60 years Marlis Beechamp, special friend, Rick Salmonson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Sandra Kellett and brother, Jim Hull Ruth’s family would like to extend a special thank you to UnityPoint Hospice, especially Ruth’s nurse, Mindy, for their exceptional level of care.
