Gloria L. Gadomski, 82, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday March 17, 2019 at UnityPoint, Trinity, Rock Island. A memorial service and celebration of Gloria’s life will be 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Word of Life Church, 1804 7th Ave. , Rock Island.

Interment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Food Pantry or Free Indeed ministries of Word of Life Church.

Gloria was born November 4, 1936 in Perth Amboy, NJ, the daughter of Arthur and Helen Barcheski Lance. She graduated from Perth Amboy High School, and then from Trenton State Teacher’s College. She married Albert C. Gadomski on on June 14, 1958 in Perth Amboy.

He preceded her in death on January 2, 2012. Gloria was an elementary teacher in New Jersey, Venezuela, and Japan. When living in Port Charlotte, she and her husband owned and operated The Record Shop and Al’s Alley.

Gloria enjoyed working at the Food Pantry of Word of Life Church, and watching the wildlife near her home. She was a 25 year breast cancer survivor. Surviving are her children, Geri (Lyn) Kruckenberg, Rock Island, Albert Gadomski, Oldsmar, Fla.

, Arthur Gadomski, Port Charlotte, Fla. and Gail (John) Overbaugh, Tulsa, Okla. ; 18 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and one on the way; brother, Arthur (Val) Lance, Beverly Hills, Fla.

; great uncle, Maynard Lance; and other family. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband; infant child; and grandson, Joe Kruckenberg.
