Cheryl Lyn Leffler Gardiner August 31, 1945 ~ January 11, 2019 Cheryl Lyn Leffler Gardiner, 73, passed away peacefully Friday, January 11, 2019 at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born August 31, 1945 in Hammond, Illinois to William R. and Leona Mae Cochrane Leffler. She was the oldest child of three.

She spent time in Decatur, Illinois, Florida as her father served in the U.S. Navy. They later settled in Washington Terrace, Utah. She was a graduate from Bonneville High School.

Cheryl met her husband in the spring of 1970. On March 15, 1975, Cheryl married Leon W. Gardiner in Reno, Nevada. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints.

She worked for the State of Utah as a Grain Inspector, from which she retired. She also worked for DDO as an Order Filler, from which she met her husband. She was an avid plant lover, loved cross-stitching and sewing for family and friends.

She competed for several years in the Weber County Fairs with her beloved plants. She loved camping and traveling. Disneyland was a favorite of hers to attend with the family.

She was a lifetime member of the National Home Gardening Club. She loved attending the Antique shows held at the Weber County Fairgrounds. She loved spending time with the family dogs, cats and horses; whether it was at home or on the trail.

She is survived by her husband, Leon, Hooper, UT; son Adam (Pam) Gardiner, Honeyville, UT; daughter’s Amanda (Chris) Brown, Hooper, UT; and Melissa (Rex) Elmer, Ogden, UT. She was a loving grandmother to ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Terry Leffler and his son, her sister-in-law Linda (Kent) Hill, Riverdale, UT; three nieces and two nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and in-laws. Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Fremont LDS Chapel, 4979 South 5100 West, Hooper. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
