OBITUARY Christopher C. Huff October 29, 1946 – October 23, 2018 Christopher Claiborne Huff If “Pop-paw” had known it was his last weekend and had the opportunity to plan it, we imagine he would have proposed it just as it happened. He spent Friday hunting with close friends and bagged two deer. He spent Saturday afternoon sitting next to his grandson, Cooper, cheering on his granddaughter, Vivian, as she took the mound for her softball team.

Sunday he relaxed, enjoyed his deer meat, and even came to the aid of his daughter and son-in-law when they experienced car trouble. Hunting with friends, spending time with his grandchildren, and coming to the rescue of family. What a great last weekend.

Somewhere in the late hours of Sunday night, October 21st or Monday morning October 22nd, the Lord took “Huff” (as he was known to most), sparing him the prospect of dialysis. Huff was born in Huntingsburg, Indiana into a military family. The oldest of six children, he traveled extensively following his father from base to base, even spending time over seas in France.

His true father figure was his grandfather, Manuel Cordova who shared with Huff his love of the outdoors. Huff graduated from Woodlawn High School and served a stint in the Army as an X-Ray tech and sharpshooter (honorable discharge). Post Army he lived in Keithville, Louisiana while working in Shreveport.

He married Edith Huff in 1971 and they had one child, Kristie. The family relocated to Omaha, Nebraska due to his promotion and spent 13 years in Nebraska. Kristie married and relocated to Texas, and wanting to be near grandchildren, Huff and Edith moved to Frisco, Texas.

He split his time between Shreveport and Frisco depending upon hunting, softball, baseball, or football schedules. Fighting off heart and kidney issues, he was diligent in trying to improve his condition while still showing up and supporting family and friends. We all consider ourselves better for having known him.

Huff is survived by Edith Huff, Kristie McKernan, Sean McKernan, Cooper McKernan, Vivian McKernan, Troy Huff, Joy Dupree, David-Ann Davis, and Greg Huff. He was preceded in death by Manuel Cordova, Dora Procell Cordova, Micheal Huff, Mary Huff, Mavor P. Johnston, Thomas L. Johnston, Tommy Ray Johnston, and Marvin Johnston.
