OBITUARY Barbara L. O. Grady November 16, 1947 – November 15, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Barbara L. O. Grady Barbara was born November 16, 1947 in Shreveport, her parents were Truman and Bess Oxley. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her children November 15th in Shreveport. Barbara was set up on a blind date by a friend, her date was Jim Grady whom she married on May 12, 1967.

They had two daughters, Kimberly and Michelle and a son, Michael. Barbara had a long career in the automotive industry. She started at Delco Remy and transitioned to General Motors when they first opened.

She prided herself in not only learning the different jobs at GM, but mastering and exceeding expectations. She often found ways to improve the job she was on and was awarded for her ideas. She was so well regarded by GM Management that she was chosen to represent the plant in Germany.

Barbara had a love of cars that carried on throughout her life. That love was surpassed by her love for her children and grandchildren, Savanna, Sarah, Rocky, Angel and Ronan. The love of her life, her husband Jim passed away September 28th, 2018 and 47 days later he helped Barbara through the gates and they will be together eternity.

We should all be so lucky to have a partner through life and after. A service celebrating the life of Barbara Oxley Grady will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018, 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Visitation with the family will be from 12 noon until service time.
