OBITUARY Jed Ray Jones April 25, 1968 – November 22, 2018 Jed Jones, 50, passed away on November 22, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at Centuries Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. Jed was born in Norman, Oklahoma on April 25, 1968. Jed grew up in Norman, Oklahoma where he watched Sooner football and developed his love for soccer.

He had an outstanding high school soccer career which led to an equally successful four years of college soccer. Jed loved his college soccer days and cherished the lifelong friendships he developed there. In both high school and college, Jed had amazing coaches and mentors.

These men led him into a career of coaching soccer at many levels. Jed helped to coach high school, college, and even club soccer in Oklahoma all while playing on the semi-pro team in Oklahoma City. Jed always had a dream of coaching NCAA soccer.

He followed that dream and moved his family to Shreveport, Louisiana where he worked and eventually became the head soccer coach at Centenary College. After Centenary College, Jed moved on to the Louisiana State University of Shreveport, where he put together a men’s and women’s soccer program. Jed won numerous player and coaching awards and had a wonderful soccer career.

He spent countless hours on the soccer field and had a true passion for the game. Jed was one of the most knowledgeable people in the field of soccer. He was truly grateful for the passion and knowledge that was passed down from coaches and mentors, especially Gordon Drummond and Brian Harvey.

Jed had one other true love and that was his children. Jed was preceded in death by his son, Jordon Grant Jones; his mother, Johnelle Kidd Jones; and his grandparents. Jed is survived by his three children, Carson Reed Jones, Landry Kate Jones, and Jacob Wilson Jones; the mother of his children, Stacey Jones; his brother, Jeff Jones; and a niece and nephews, along with cousins.

FAMILY Carson Reed Jones, Son Landry Kate Jones, Daughter Jacob Wilson Jones, Son Stacey Jones, Mother of his children Jeff Jones, Brother Johnelle Kidd Jones, Mother Jordon Grant Jones, Son Mr. Jones is also survived by a niece and nephews, along with many cousins.
