Cindy Lee Kaake, 58, of Danville, Va. , passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born March 12, 1960, in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Sherry Long Ashford and the late Duane Ashford.

Cindy had a unique sense of humor and a huge heart; she loved her cats and her grandchildren. She was loyal and understanding, kind, independent and strong. Cindy studied accounting at Northwest Missouri State University.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Jamie Bowen and husband, John of Kernersville, N.C.; her sons, Travis Spire and wife, Maggie of Maryville, Missouri, Chris Kaake of Danville, and Chaz Kaake and wife, Virginia of Keeling, Va.

; her brothers, Rick Ashford of Rock Port, Missouri, and Randy Ashford. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Gavan, Riley, Diamond, Liam and Aiden. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Norris West End Chapel, with Pastor Austin Merricks and Pastor Seth Lackey officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, January 9, 2019, at the funeral home. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. , Danville, Va.
