Clair Luther Love was born in Dallastown, PA on September 18, 1935 the son of Luther O. Love and Myrtle (Fake) Love. He grew up in Bittersville, PA and left at age 8 to attend Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (PSD) in Philadelphia, where he excelled at Track & Field, Football and Basketball. He graduated from PSD in 1954.

He married Lois Copeland in 1957 and together they raised a family in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC. Clair worked for various contractors in the Metro DC area working in brick, stone and tile, retiring from Accent General Contracting in 2005. Clair enjoyed traveling in his RV with the Good Sam Club, swimming and landscaping projects.

He was a lifelong Washington Redskins football fan and loved watching NBA games. He was predeceased by his wife Lois in 2014. He is survived by a son, Terry Love and daughter in-law Karen Love with grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Love of Damascus, MD, and a daughter, Linda Love and son in-law, Edward Reese of Olney, MD.

Also surviving are brothers, Dale Love, Donald Love, Eugene & Barbara Love , Thomas & Ruth Love, all of York County, PA, a brother in-law, Barry & Ethelene Copeland of Hanover, MD, sister in-law Kathie (Copeland) & Patrick Shay of Annapolis, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872 on Saturday, November 10, from 11:00 am until funeral services begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Germantown, Maryland.
