Obituary for Clara A. Peru Clara A. Peru February 8, 1930 – Died January 6, 2019 in Phoenix Arizona. The gates of heaven opened up and received another angel on Sunday, January 6, 2O19 at 8:00 AM. Clara was born in Phoenix Arizona daughter of Petra Herrera & Antonio Anthony Thomas Sr. who preceded her in death.

Clara was married to Jimmy Peru who preceded her in death. Clara is survived by four children Paulino A. Velasquez, Lloyd T. Harrison, Francine A. Hernandez, & Lucille G. Starr, three sisters, Mildred B. Hill, Catherine Daniels &Theresa M. Leon. Clara is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Clara was preceded in death by 6 children – Freddy Arturo Harrison, Salvador Harrison, Lawrence Big Boy Thomas, Rudy Harrison, Joseph Winkle Harrison, and Jeanette Marie Phillips. And 6 siblings – Veronica Hill, Ann Marie Tate, Agnes Thomas, Mary Hernandez, Paul Thomas and Joseph Thomas. Clara was a hard worker, driving 18 wheel tractor trailers for 18 years until she retired.

Clara was surrounded by a large family and her heart’s desire was always for the best for her family. Clara was always joyful and full of laughter. She had a great love of music playing the piano and singing whenever she could.

Clara was an understanding mother, grandma, sister and friend and will forever be in the hearts of those who love her. Clara was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Indian Mission Church & Women’s Group where she was loved by all. Her Faith was very important to Clara and she loved and trusted in God.

May Clara now rest in peace with her Lord & Savior home at last. A wake will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2O19 from 3 – 10 PM at Salt River Memorial Hall 9849 E. Earll Drive, Scottsdale AZ, 85256. Funeral Service Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 7 AM at St. John’s Indian Mission 5427 W. Pecos Road, Laveen, AZ 85339 with Interment immediately following at St. John’s Cemetery.
