Obituary for Clarence Edward Waters Clarence Edward Waters August 26, 1927 – September 25, 2018 Clarence E Waters of Atlanta TX, passed away at the age of 91 at the Golden Villa Nursing Home in Atlanta TX. He married Genette Driskell of Huffines on January 12, 1952. They have been married for 66 years and had five sons and one daughter.

One son, Charles Edwin, passed January 07, 1953, as an infant. He is buried at Huffines Cemetery. Before Clarence passed, there were 5 generations of Waters.

Clarence joined the Nazarene Church at the age of 19 and at the time of his death, was a member of West Side Baptist Church. He worked at the Atlanta Canning Plant until 1955. He then moved to West Texas where he began working in the oil field with his brother-in-law in McCamey, TX.

They moved around West Texas and New Mexico while working on a drilling rig. He later retired and moved to Ft Stockton, TX and worked roofing houses. Later, he began a yard service with his wife, Genette.

He loved working in the yard, fixing broken items, fishing, and canning. He especially loved coming to town on vacation and carrying his father-in-law fishing, early in the mornings. They would then come home for breakfast.

After breakfast, he would carry the children out fishing on the lake. Clarence is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Lila Waters of Atlanta TX; brothers Thomas and Harley Waters; his son Charles Edwin; sisters Maudine Treadway of Atlanta TX; brother-in-law Danny Wheaton; two nephews, and one niece. Clarence is survived by his wife Opal Genette Driskell Waters of Atlanta TX, sons Clarence Edward Waters Jr of Killeen TX, James Walter Waters of Dallas TX, John David Waters and wife Magda of Brownwood TX, and Ronald Joe Waters of Tennessee Colony TX; daughter Ann Casebeer and husband Eddie of Colorado City TX; sister-in-law Jimmie Wheaton of Douglasville TX; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

He is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Clarence will be held at Queen City Funeral Home in Queen City, TX on Friday, September 28, 2018. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and funeral services will follow immediately, beginning at 11:00 AM.
