Obituary for Evelyn Inez Orr Evelyn Inez Orr May 27, 1936 – July 17, 2018 Our Beautiful Mom, Maw and Maw Maw Evelyn Inez Orr born in Texarkana, AR May 27th, 1936 the daughter of Berlin Enoch Latham and Evelyn Mae Latham. Our beloved mother, sister, Maw Maw, aunt, and friend. She guided us with faith, love, and hope.
“And now these three remain faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love”. 1 Corinthians 13:13 And of these Faith…….
. We watched her in action as time after time when challenges came her way she met it with fierce, tenacious and devout faith. Her faith was one of the strongest we have ever seen.
In the face of fear, in the face of pain and in the face of doubt we looked to her as a guide for faith. We knew her faith would never falter in times of trouble. She will always be our warrior, a woman of valor and courage, and a woman who does not run from the battle, but to it with faith that can move mountains.
And of these Love……… In a tribute to her, one of her grandkids wrote, “There are very few people that can say they really lived a good life, but I can truly say Maw Maw did”. This good life can be attributed to the very foundation that she stood upon until the final day that she went home to be with our Heavenly Father and that was, “Love one Another”. She was steadfast in unfailing love for Jesus and her family.
She let it be known one of the most important things in her life was her marriage, kids, grandkids, great grandkids and even great great grandkids. You could see a glow around her when she talked about her family. More than just a nickname for grandma, she carried the highest honor to be called Maw Maw, she once said, “Hearing Maw Maw was just as special as hearing Mom for the first time”.
She will always nurture our souls with her powerful and radiant love, compassion, and kindness. And of these Hope……… And last, but definitely, not least she had undying hope. She lived by the idea that, impossible is where God starts.
Many times hope gave her clarity. She had a way of seeing the good in everything, even though all that she had seen. She knew that through prayer and the grace of God the light would always shine through.
To us, she demonstrated that light with strength dignity and let us not forget the laughter. One of the greatest gifts of hope that she would give us is laughter. You could always count on her to throw a joke in to ease our tension and give us hope that everything would be alright.
As we gather here today let the celebration of her beautiful life and the gifts that she has given to us lift our spirits and comfort our heavy hearts. Amen. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Evelyn Inez Orr please visit our Sympathy Store.
