Clarence Roland Baker, 87, of Commiskey passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. Born January 4, 1931, in Buckhorn, Kentucky, Mr. Baker was the son of the late Rodney R. and Molly McIntosh Baker. He married Mildred Begley on September 24, 1949, in Buckhorn, Kentucky.

She survives. Mr. Baker was a diesel mechanic and a farmer, he had previously worked in coal mines for five years and was a toolmaker for Cummins Engine Company for 18 years. He was a member of Commiskey Baptist Church.

Mr. Baker was a gardener extraordinaire, who enjoyed fishing, farming and spending time with his family. Surviving with his wife, Mildred Baker are a son, Gary Roland (Connie) Baker of Commiskey; daughters, Glenda (Bill) Wheeler of Commiskey and Greta (Charles) Raleigh of Chavis, Kentucky; brothers, Luther (Joyce) Baker of Mooresville and Charles (Betty) Baker of South Carolina; sisters, Pauline Horton of Florida and Lida Webster of North Vernon; grandchildren, Olivia McMillan of North Vernon, Curtis Baker of Dupont, Faith (Josh) Scott of Madison and Gary Halcomb of Paris Crossing; great-grandchildren, Kala McMillan, Elijah McMillan, Reece Baker and Brenden Baker all of North Vernon, Trenton Scott and Lakyn Scott both of Madison, Hunter Halcomb, Shalyn Halcomb and Alila Halcomb all of Paris Crossing and great-great-grandchild, Greyson Murphy of North Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Molly Baker; brothers, Robert Lee, Jess, Bill and Tom Baker and a sister, Edna Lois Baker.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Commiskey Baptist Church in Commiskey. Family and Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday. May 11.

2018, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Commiskey Baptist Church.
