Obituary for Clarke V. Toivonen Clarke V. Toivonen passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena. He was born in Butte July 15, 1949 to Toivo William and Gertrude S. (Jarvey) Toivonen. He attended local schools, graduated from Butte High School and attended Western, Montana College in Dillon and Montana Tech.

Clark was working as an oiler for the Anaconda Company when he was stricken with encephalitis. Despite his disabilities, Clarke maintained a great sense of humor, loved to tell a good joke, mastered solitaire, enjoyed (and cheated at) Yatzee and loved ice cream and M&M’s. He loved company and nobody was a stranger to him.

His care givers at Elkhorn Health and Rehab were wonderful friends to him and their care and love will be forever appreciated by his family. Clarke is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob and Ginger Toivonen and John and Becky Toivonen all of Butte, nieces and nephews: Kim LeProwse and Leo Stevens, Tammy and Mike Fisk, Heather and Jeff LeProwse, Jennifer and Ray Paddock, Chris and Jaime Toivonen, Beth and Jason Klaumann and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his cousin Dawn Duea.
