Obituary for Colleen Hendrick Colleen Hendrick; 91 years old, native of Crockett, California and La Selva Beach resident of 43 years, passed away peacefully at her home following a short illness. She was considered to be the matriarch and welcome wagon lady of her loving little community of La Selva. Colleen wrote her corner in the local newsletter for many years and was involved in many activities and social events where she thrived with all her friends and family.

Colleen was a homemaker and married to Earl Hix Hendrick, a World War II decorated veteran for 59 years. She is survived by her children, son Neal Bruce Hendrick of South Lake Tahoe and daughter Gayle Diane Sarratea (Ignacio) of Minden, Nevada. Colleen is also survived by her six grandchildren; Kemper Hendrick, Dylan Gissell (Brenda), Kade Hendrick (Carlena), Khyan (James Padgett), Rus Hendrick (Haylie) and Jesse Sarratea.

She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren which know her as “Oma”. A private family burial will take place at Oakwood Memorial Park in Santa Cruz. Refreshments will be served at her home on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM with a flag walk to the bluffs to follow.
