Obituary of Lois Wolfberg August 16, 1919 – October 19, 2018 Private services will be held for Lois Wolfberg who passed away peacefully at her Santa Cruz residence at the age of 99. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Lois was a longtime resident of Los Angeles; moving to Santa Cruz 30 years ago with her husband. She was a talented watercolorist and many of her paintings were on display at Dominican Oaks, where she cherished the many friendships made there.

She will be missed by many of the staff at Dominican Oaks, and especially by her caregivers, Azam and Belgin whose compassion and tenderness for Lois will forever be appreciated by her loving family. Lois appreciated art and culture her entire life, and many memories will continue to be treasured for volunteering as a docent at the Asian Art Museum in Pasadena. Upon moving to Santa Cruz, she and her husband Stanley, were members of Temple Beth-El Jewish Community in Aptos.

Lois and Stanley were accomplished travelers; enjoying several trips around the world with destinations including Cairo, Jamaica, Europe, Israel, South and Central America, Mexico and Cape Town, South Africa. In her final days, she enjoyed the readings in her journal and the feelings she experienced aboard the Queen Mary during the onset of WW II. Lois is survived by her son Joel Wolfberg of Palo Alto, and her daughter Nancy Wolfberg of El Granada, California.

She also leaves her granddaughter Mira Cohen and great grandchild Saulie Cohen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Stanley Wolfberg in 2015. A private committal is planned.

Any kind acts of charity can be made in her memory to Planned Parenthood, KQED and the Arthritis Foundation.
