Obituary of Elizabeth Keatinge Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Cooper Keatinge was born in Long Beach, California on August 24, 1927 to Amberose and Peggy Stewart. She left this world peacefully on October 1, 2018 at the home of her oldest daughter, Kathy, and son-in-law, Robert, in Aptos, California. During Betty’s final days, she was surrounded by her devoted daughters and loved ones, and was able to say her goodbyes.

The embodiment of beauty, spunk, sense of humor, zest for play, and love of family, Betty had it all. She was our West Coast Swinging, hula dancing, beach loving, golf ball hitting, boogie boarding, cookie baking, bridge playing, portrait drawing, always loving mom, grandma, great grandma, and great-great grandma. During her younger years, Betty volunteered with various organizations including Girl Scouts, and the Republican Party, all the while taking tender care to always provide a warm, loving home for her husband Jack, and her devoted, precious daughters, Kathy and Debbie.

Betty was also blessed with seven grandchildren who meant the world to her. Many summers during the 1980’s were spent with Amy, Sean, Matt, Kristen, Kira, Lisa and Kevin at her home in Oceanside, California. Betty, Jack and their grandchildren enjoyed countless days at the beach, trips to Lake Tahoe, Padre baseball games, and more.

As time passed and the family grew in size, Betty’s family grew. She loved to boast about her twenty great grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. And just last month, she met her first great-great grandchild and had a five- generation photo taken.

In Betty’s later years, she found great pleasure volunteering with Meals on Wheels, and continued to enjoy golfing, dancing and playing bridge with her many friends. She was also fortunate to find love twice. After Jack passed away in 1990, Betty thought she would always be alone, however, she was destined to find love again.

Betty spent the past five years being doted on and adored by her dear love, Jim. They enjoyed dancing, traveling and most importantly, each other’s company. Betty and Jim could often be caught looking at each other with tenderness that brought tears to your eyes.

As we grieve and mourn the loss of our beloved “Betty Boop”, we have faith that we will be together again someday. Until then, we will cherish our time with our family and friends, live in the moment, and laugh with our loved ones, just as she did. When the sun is shining down upon our faces, we will feel her presence, her warmth and know that she is with us always.

Her Loving Family.
