Obituary of Isaac Tafoya Sr. Isaac G. Tafoya, Sr. passed away August 25, 2018 at Stanford University Medical Center, at the age of 74. He was born December 6, 1944 in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Steve Tafoya and Senaida Mascarenos. He grew up in Colorado and as a young man served in the U.S. Army.

Following his military service he has worked as a carpenter, a mason, a farmer and also in the fiber optics industry. In his spare time he enjoyed playing music, working on automobiles and also doing martial arts. He is survived his long-time companion of 35 years, Mary Granmap; sons, Isaac Tafoya, Jr. and Daniel Tafoya; his six siblings, Pearl, Steve, Anna, Manuel, Ester, Rudy and Joe; he is also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A memorial service and celebration of Isaac’s life will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, CA on Saturday Sept. 8, at 2:00 pm. A reception will be held at the VFW Hall 2259 7th Ave, Santa Cruz, CA following the service.
