Obituary of Collin McCabe COLLIN CAVANAUGH MCCABE Watervliet – Collin Cavanaugh McCabe, 30 entered into eternal life on Friday July 6, 2018 suddenly at his home in Florida. Born in Troy on September 3, 1987, he was the cherished son of Mark S. McCabe Sr. and Susan A. Cavanaugh McCabe. Collin was raised in Watervliet, where he lived most of his life.

He was a 2005 graduate of Watervliet High School. He was a loving soul with a special place in his heart for animals, nature and people from all walks of life. Collin loved kayaking, hiking, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, Lake George and the Adirondacks.

He enjoyed golfing with his family and friends, and cherished the laughter they shared. Collin was a conductor with the Herzog Corporation –Tri Rail in Miami, Florida and was previously employed by Amtrak in the Capital District. Through his work on the railroad, he made countless friends – both co-workers and passengers.

Collin resided in Florida for a little over two years and touched the lives of many through his kindness, compassion and wisdom. He was a special person with a heart that knew no bounds. He was deeply loved by all who were blessed to have him in their lives.

Survivors include his loving mother Susan A. Cavanaugh McCabe (Ned Alaskey), his loving father Mark S. McCabe Sr. (Helen). ; he was the best friend and brother of Mark S. McCabe Jr. and Ryan M. McCabe (Olivia Guillaume). Collin loved being Uncle Collin to his beautiful niece Shannon Lynn McCabe; and, he was the beloved grandson of Marilyn A. Cavanaugh and Elaine McCabe.

Collin is also survived by many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather James F. Cavanaugh Jr., and paternal grandfather Charles J. McCabe. Funeral services and visitation will be private for family and close friends at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd.

Latham. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Watervliet. For those wishing to remember Collin in a special way, donations may be made to the Elizabeth Nash Foundation PO Box 590883, San Francisco, CA 94159, in support of Cystic Fibrosis research in memory of Collin’s cousin Elizabeth.
