Sander, age 23, of Grand Forks, ND passed away tragically, of natural causes, in Langdon, ND on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Conner Landeis Sander was born December 11, 1995 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Vernon and Kelly (McMahon) Sander. He was raised in Grand Forks and attended Viking Elementary School, Schroeder Middle School and graduated with honors from Grand Forks Central High School.

He went on to attend the University of North Dakota, where he was on the President’s List or Dean’s List each semester without fail. Conner was a proud Alumni member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and was a teaching assistant in the University of North Dakota Chemistry Department. Conner would have graduated with a degree of Public Health Education with a minor in Biology in May 2019.

Conner grew up with the love for sports, playing baseball, hockey and was an all-state soccer player. He was also a volunteer for the Special Olympics Soccer Tournament and was a referee for the Grand Forks Park District Hockey Program. During the summer months, he could be seen in the boom truck painting light poles for the City of Grand Forks, “loving his job”.

Conner loved to spend his free time with family and friends. Left to mourn Conner are his parents, Kelly and Vernon Sander, Grand Forks, ND; his maternal grandmother, Jacqueline McMahon, Grand Forks, ND; a special friend, Lauren Schmidt, Duluth, MN; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Judd McMahon; his paternal grandparents, Adelaide and Vernon Sander and cousins, Dayviene Wolf and Courtney Dahlen.

Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND. Family Greeting: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service Wednesday in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel. Family greeting will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.

Interment: At a later date.
