Constance’s Obituary Constance “Connie” Waupoose, age 86, of Neopit, went peacefully home to Heaven on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019. She was at home, surrounded by her family. She is the daughter of the late Jerome and Sunday Grignon and was born in Neopit on July 21, 1932.

Connie attended Shawano High School. Connie was united in marriage to Gordon L. Waupoose Sr. on November 26, 1949 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, where she was a devoted member of the church. Connie was a Godmother to many.

She held her faith close her entire life and was a Christian role model participating in Christian Mothers, Schoenstatt and Kateri Tekakwitha Societies. Connie was very active within the community and was always volunteering or lending a hand at crafts or baking. Connie was always willing to help people.

Connie’s hobby was making cakes – making many birthday, wedding, and event cakes for the family and community. Connie leaves behind her children: Mary Beth Pecore of Neopit, David (Jill) Waupoose, Sr. of Shawano, Marlin (Jerilyn) Waupoose, Sr. of Keshena, Carmella (Herman Peters) Waupoose of Shawano, and Annmarie (Kenny) Johnson III of Keshena; daughter-in-law, Ruth “Babze” Waupoose of Keshena; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Sharon Waupoose and Mary Claire Grignon of Neopit, Robert (Arlene) Grignon of DePere, WI and Guy (Roberta) Grignon of Keshena; her in-laws, Ivan Waupoose of Milwaukee, WI, Rose Gengler of Keshena, Leila Rabideaux of Keshena, Warren Wilber of Keshena, Leatha (Greg) Grinhaug of Bowler, Jerome Waupoose of Keshena and Jeanine Waupoose of Neopit; along with numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors, other relatives and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by: her husband, Gordon L. Waupoose Sr.; her son, Gordon “Sonny” Waupoose Jr.; a son-in-law, Wayne Pecore Jr.; two grandchildren, Tricia Pecore and Marlin Waupoose Jr.; great-granddaughters, Lily Lyons and Starfire Waupoose; her siblings, James Grignon, Jerry Lee Grignon, Michelle Grignon, Joan Waukau, Jerilyn Grignon, Stanley Grignon, Dana Grignon Sr., Arlene Wimmer, and Carol Warrington; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alexander and Sarah Waupoose, Sr.; her in-laws, Delores and Mike Koszarek, Gloria and Richard Herrera, Romilda and Bill Wilson, Alex Jr. and Clara Waupoose, LeRoy and Jean Marie Waupoose, Irvin Waupoose Sr., Vivian Waupoose, Everette Waupoose Sr., Robert Gengler, Patricia Hayes, Mary Pat Grignon, Antoinette Wilber, and Edward, Kenneth and Xavier Waupoose. A funeral mass for Connie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit, with Father Joel Jores officiating. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center in Neopit from 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2018 until time of services on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Neopit Community Center. The family extends its gratitude for the special care by Dr. Amy Slagle and Melissa White, Menominee Tribal Clinic, Theda Care Hospice, as well as a special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Ruth “Babze” Waupoose. www.
