Crape Merlin Stringer, age 83, formerly of Biglerville, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his daughter’s home. He was born Sunday, March 17, 1935 in High Springs, FL, the son of the late William A. and Florence (Knight) Stringer. Crape graduated from Bell High School in Bell Florida in 1954.

He said, “The greatest thing that ever happened to me was my good health and being married to the same woman for 55 years”. His wife, Yvonne M. (Black) Stringer, passed away in 2011. He is survived by one daughter, Maria J. Stewart-Posey and husband Kevin D. Posey of Gettysburg, one son, David J. and wife Rose M. Stringer of Biglerville, eight grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one sister, Marie Strickland of Winter Haven, FL.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Roxanne D. Kint, who passed away in 2014, son-in-law James Kint, who passed away in 2013 and son-in-law David Stewart who passed away in 2000. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Cremation services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville.

Services will be held at the discretion of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association at www. heart.org and American Cancer Society at www.
