Cynthia Joann Cool June 8, 1953 – January 20, 2019 Cynthia “Cindy” Joann Cool, 65, of Albany, passed away at the Evergreen Hospice House. The daughter of James and Ruby (Schulte) Trickey, she was born in Eugene. She married Virgil Cool April 12, 1975 in Albany.

At age three, Cindy went to live with her Great Aunt and Uncle Marie and Hiram Bierly in Halsey, where she lived until her Uncle passed away in 1960. She and her sister, Teri moved with their Aunt to Albany. Cindy graduated from Albany Union High School in 1971.

For many years, she raised and showed Chows. One of her Chows was a Grand Champion. Cindy was also involved Special Olympics, where she enjoyed working with developmental disabled adults.

She was an active member of the WVTPA. Her passion besides her grandchildren and family were her horses. She love traveling to Mexico and Hawaii.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Virgil; son, Joshua and his wife Renee; brothers Larry Alexander and Fred Trickey; sisters, Teri Bush and her husband Jim, Pam Van Schoiack and husband Jim; grandsons, Ben and Dean; and numerus nieces and nephews, other family members and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her Aunt Marie Bierly, who was more like a mother to her; and niece, Jill Montgomery. At the family’s request no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington St. Albany, OR. 97321.
