DALE’s Obituary Mr. Dale Burnham Leighton, 80, passed away May 24, 2019 at home in Barefoot Bay, FL. Dale was born in Solon, Maine and lived in Barefoot Bay coming from Eastport, Maine. He was an Army and Air Force veteran who received numerous medals and decorations.

Dale retired as a truck driver for K & K Trucking in Gowrie, Iowa and considered the Kuhn’s as part of his extended family. He was a graduate of Shead Memorial High School. Survivors include wife Karlene Leighton of Barefoot Bay; daughters Linda Grant (Ralph) of Waldoboro, Maine, Lisa Clements (Shawn) of Tampa, Vicki Schulte of Jackson, Tennessee and Cheryl Gorman (Michael) of Waterville, Maine; sons David Leighton (Yvonne) of Nobleboro, Maine, Dwayne Leighton of Lehigh Acres, Stephen Faulkingham of Fresno, California, Tony Faulkner of Escondido, California and Kevin Newman of Barefoot Bay.

Dale also has 22 loving grandchildren and too many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren to count. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Helena Leighton. Memorial contributions may be made to Health First Hospice.
