CATHERINE’s Obituary Barefoot Bay, FL – Catherine M. (Lorraine) Bergamo, 80, formally of Waterbury, CT was reunited with her husband Lawrence F. Bergamo in heaven as she peacefully passed away on May 21, 2019 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian FL. Catherine was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Jane Lucas Lorraine. A graduate of Wilby High School.

She was fortunate to marry her childhood sweetheart and best friend since they were in grammar school. She was employed by Colonial Bank, Traveler’s Insurance, and eventually retired from the UCONN Waterbury Branch after many years where she was the food service supervisor. She was an avid card player, loved dancing, singing, trips to Wildwood, NJ and Aruba.

Her greatest joys and treasures were her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She was loved by all and brought a smile to everyone she met. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Bergamo and her son, Robert Bergamo.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Mark Bergamo of West Haven, CT; Suzanne Bergamo of Barefoot Bay FL; Lawrence Bergamo of Seymour, CT; and Janet Bergamo of Thomaston, CT. She also leaves her 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, and incredible friends who were like family to her. Two services will be held: FL: Calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday May 25th at Strunk Funeral Home, 1623 N Central Avenue, Sebastian, FL.

A mass will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 5055 Micco Rd. , Micco, FL. CT: Calling hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday May 29th at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow Street, Waterbury, CT.
