Dale Eugene Evans, 81, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Oakland. Born July 18, 1937, he was the son of the late Donald Manear and Gladys Marie (Bolyard) Evans. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Richard Evans.

Dale was a school bus driver for 60 years, a contractor for 54 years and owned and operated Dale E. Evans Inc. Dale had a true love of farming, raising cattle, sheep and crops. He worked as an accountant for George McLaughlin and Kelly Springfield. Dale was joint owner of Oak-Mar Motel and Restaurant.

He worked with Dr. Custer as a veterinarian assistant and a meat cutter for Winn Dixie in Florida. Dale was joint owner of Backbone Mt. Inn and worked in management at Alpine Coal.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Jeanne (Ritchie) Evans; one son, David Mark Evans and wife, Felicia, Searcy, AR; one daughter, Sharon (Shari) Annette (Evans) Miller and husband, Dan, Oakland; six grandchildren, Tristan Evans and wife, Mai; Aaron Evans; Gareth Evans ; Holli Harris; Joshua Harris and wife, Jessica; Nathanael Harris; six step-grandchildren, Heather Savage and husband, Dave; Bryana Bair and husband Mike; Stephanie Miller; Christopher Miller and wife, Jordan; Ryan Miller; Andrew Miller; nine great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Evans and wife, Judith, Swanton, MD; one sister, Connie Thomas and husband, Henry, Katy, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Road, Oakland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted in the church on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating. Interment will be at Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
