Dale Rodney Carlson, age 84 of North Branch passed peacefully at Parmly on the Lake with his family by his side on Friday, November 2, 2018. Dale was born on July 15, 1934 at the family farm to Clifford and Verna (Nordin) Carlson. He attended a small country school until the eighth grade and graduated from North Branch High School in 1952.

He fell in love with Joyce Marie Olson and they were married September 1955. Dale worked 37 years for Land O’ Lakes where he painted semi trucks and trailers and was a diesel mechanic.

His favorite hobby was gardening! He loved watching it grow and sharing the produce. He also enjoyed wood working, hunting and fishing.

His family was always first. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest joy. Dale is survived by his children, Kim (Dana) Johnson of North Branch, Mitch (Penny) Carlson of North Branch and Matthew (Mary) Carlson of Harris; sisters, Lois (Russ) Swanson of Elk River and Cindy (Mark) Dilling of Anoka; his grandchildren, Derrick (Erin) Johnson, Megan (Luke) Anderson and James and Phillip Bartholomew; his five great grandchildren, Jillian, Ryker and Nolan Anderson and Madilyn and Brecken Johnson as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Verna, grandson, Andrew Dale Carlson and wife, Joyce on May 20, 2018.
