Obituary of Dale Carlson Dale W. Carlson, 76, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday February 23, 2019 in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born March 25, 1942 in Jamestown the son of the late Walter W. Carlson and Dorothy Ranka. Dale was a graduate of Jamestown High School.

He began his banking career at Marine Midland Bank, working in collections. When Marine Midland merged with HSBC, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President/Manager until his retirement. In earlier years, he worked as an orderly and surgical tech at WCA Hospital.

He was a past president of the America Institute of Banking, and was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church where he served on the finance committee, cemetery committee, and the collection counting team, and a member of the Celtics. Dale was very active in Boy Scouts for Allegheny Highlands. He was past treasurer for Troop 162, Council Commissioner, Council President and Vice President, National Council member, Webelos leader for Troop 162, and was chairman of many committees.

Surviving are his wife Elizabeth Howell Carlson whom he married July 2, 1966; two sons: Michael E. Carlson (Michael Condon) of Fayette, ME, and Matthew J. Carlson of Jamestown; a grandson, Jacob E. Carlson of Ashville; a brother, Walter W. Carlson Jr. (Kim) of Hamburg, NY; a nephew, Mitchell Carlson and niece, Kristina Carlson both of Hamburg; two nieces, Julie Roller and Sarah McPherson both of Texas. Dale is also survived by his aunt, Katherine Lynn of Florida and several cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Walfrid Carlson and his uncles Allan Carlson and John L. Carlson.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. April 15, 2019 in Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. April 14 in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian wake service will be led at 1:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Apostles Parish, 508 Cherry Street, Jamestown, NY 14701, or the Boy Scouts of America, 50 Hough Hill Road, Falconer, NY 14733 or the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, NY 13790.
