Mrs. Dana Marie Dunn Cummings, 61, died Sunday, May 26, 2019, while a resident at Wadesboro Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 5:30PM Thursday, May 30th at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. John Greene officiating.

Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Leavitt Funeral Home. Dana was born in Gaston county on April 17, 1958, a daughter of the late Ralph Dunn and Norma Jean Liner Dunn.

She graduated Bowman High School in 1976. Dana had worked briefly as a Certified Nursing Assistant before finding work as a correctional officer at Brown Creek Correctional Institution. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Charles “Tuna” Cummings of the home; two children, Brandon Cummings and Shana Cummings both of Wadesboro; four grandchildren, Daylin Simmons, Aubrey Johnson, Owen Cummings, and Xander Castrejon.

Also surviving are two sisters, Teah (John) Kelly and Carlyn Cowick all of Wadesboro; and a brother, Chris (Denise) Dunn of Polkton; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
