Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel Castillo, 55, of Diboll, will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Diboll with Fr. Luis F. Arroyave officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Haven Cemetery.

Mr. Castillo was born August 3, 1963 in Eagle Pass, Texas, the son of Jose Castillo and Eloisa (Martinez) Castillo, and died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Castillo attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Diboll. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, family cookouts, and listening to music.

Mr. Castillo loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He loved to coach his children in baseball. Mr. Castillo was the champion of washer tournaments.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, GuadalupeCastillo; daughter, Giselle Castillo; son, Daniel Castillo Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Sergio and Karina Castillo; grandchildren, Emma Castillo and Sebastian Nico Castillo; father, Jose Castillo; brothers and sisters-in-law, Juan Jose Castillo Sr, Roberto and Ana Castillo; Cruz Enrique and Rosa Castillo, and Everardo and Claudia Castillo; sister and brother-in-law, Rosa and Roy Ramos; in-laws, Ricardo and Maria Elena Fernandez, Ricardo Jr. andErica Fernandez, Luis Ibarra and Perla Fernandez, and Trinidad Garza and Maria Fernandez; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother Eloisa Castillo; and brother, Amador Castillo. Pallbearers will be Daniel Castillo Jr., Sergio Castillo, Everardo Castillo, Luis Castillo, Roy Ramos I, Roberto Castillo Jr., Jose Cruz Castillo, and Ricardo Fernandez Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Juan Jose Castillo Sr., Roberto Castillo Sr., Cruz Enrique Castillo, Rosa Ramos, and all of his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton Road, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30329. The family would like to extent a special thank you to Hospice in the Pines for the loving care of their loved one. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, with rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Shafer Funeral Home, directors.
