Obituary for Daniel Howard Schmittling Daniel Howard Schmittling passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at the age of 55. He was a resident of Lumberton MS. He is survived by his long-time partner and love of his life, Cathy Schulman, his son, Samuel Schmittling, and his brother, Brian Schmittling.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Schmittling Swan and his father, Cletus Schmittling, as well as his brother, Thomas Schmittling. He worked offshore as a cook for Sonoco Catering of Houma LA. Daniel enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping and fishing.

He was a simple person who tried to do and fix everything himself. The one thing he could not fix was the dreaded lung cancer, which spread to other parts of his body. He was a strong person who put up a good fight, but the cancer won the war in the end.

Daniel will be missed forever by his soulmate, Cathy, and is now resting in God’s arms. There will be a memorial gathering at a later date. All who knew him will be notified.
