It is with great sadness that on Monday, October 15, 2018 Daniel J. Schnare passed away at the age of 69. He was married to the love of his life Frances Schnare (Sadowsky) for more than 46 years. Through the years, “Dan and Fran” were soul mates and best friends.

They were always there for one another. He loved his “Franky” more than life itself. Together they raised two amazing daughters.

Joeleen and her husband Jim DiCiocco of West Springfield and Karlyn Schnare of Chicopee. His four grandchildren miss him deeply, James and Jianni DiCiocco and Nevaeh and Julian Schnare. Dan, Dad, Danno, Grandpa was a true definition of a family man.

Dan always put his family first and would do anything for them. He was so proud of all of them. He raised his girls Jojo and Kar to be strong and independent.

He was an active father who wouldn’t miss a school function, dance recital or soccer game. He always made every birthday and holiday so special. He put no limits on what we could do and wanted us to always give our best.

He was so “real” and never faulted us for our mistakes. He would just give us a hug and tell us he loved us, he always told us he loved us. He loved his son in law Jim “Jimbo”, like the son he never had.

He was proud and thankful for the life he created for his family. They enjoyed talking about the Redsox and Patriots. He loved, adored and spoiled his grandkids, they were his pride and joy.

James Daniel and Grandpa enjoyed fishing. Jianni “Ji” loved to snuggle with grandpa and watch a movie. He never missed a game and he was their biggest fan.

Nevaeh “Nev” was his little princess, he was her best friend. Julian enjoyed following grandpa with his toy mower while he mowed the lawn. Grandpa was and always will be their hero.

Dan touched so many lives with his open heart and generosity and will be missed by all. He will forever be in our hearts always… A Memorial Service will be held on SAT at 2 PM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST. , W. SPFLD.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling Hours will be held SAT from 12 to 2 PM.
