Roger R. Bibeau, 85, passed away Fri. Sept. 28, 2018.

He was born July 23, 1933 to the late Aimee and Anna (Landry) Bibeau. Roger grew up in Springfield and was an altar boy at the former St. Joseph’s Church. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Abbot DD-629 as it crossed the 80th Meridan on July 2, 1954 and as it crossed the equator on Oct.

28, 1954. Roger also served aboard the USS Arcadia AD-23. He worked for many years at Savage Arms and also owned Bibeau Shooting Supplies and New England Bullet Company.

A skeet shooting champion during the 1970’s he was a lifelong member of the Ludlow Fish & Game and the Springfield Drum Corps. Roger loved to hunt and fish and was an avid reader. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife Joann M. (Taskey) Bibeau in 2014, his step mother Theresa (Turcotte) Bibeau, his brother Joseph and sisters Madeleine Buckner and Anita Bednarz.

Roger leaves his two sons; Steven J. Bibeau and his wife Debbie of Westfield and Jon Paul Bibeau and his wife Maria of W. Spfld. , his grandchildren; Christopher, Nicole and Ashley and his great grandsons Jax and Grady. He also leaves his brothers David and Paul Bibeau and his sister Pauline Rousseau several nephews and a niece.

Funeral Services will be held WEDS 10 AM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST. , W. SPFLD. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.

Calling Hours will be held TUES from 4 to 7 PM. The family would like to thank the W. Spfld Fire Dept. , and W. Spfld Police Dept.

for their support and care they showed Roger. They would also like to thank the VA Services and Trinity Healthcare for the services they provided Roger.
