Joanne J. (Chiarini) McGuinness, 78, of Druids Lane passed away Wednesday at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was born on June 30, 1940 to the late Armando and Alice (Pessimato) Chiarini. She was a lifelong resident of West Springfield and graduated from West Springfield High School.

Joanne worked at Mass Mutual for over 20 years. Prior to that she worked in catalog sales for Sears and Roebuck. She graduated from West Springfield High School and later attended STCC.

Joanne was formerly a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in West Springfield and more recently she was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She was the beloved wife of Matthew J. McGuinness, loving mother of Michael J. and Mark D. McGuinness both of West Springfield and Susan M. Aubrey and her husband Jamie of Agawam, caring sister of Deborah A. Chiarini of West Springfield and devoted grandmother of Madison and Brianne Aubrey. All Funeral and Committal Services will be private.

Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
