Daniel Thomas Penisten Jr., 56, passed away Tuesday July 10, 2018 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. Daniel was born December 28, 1961, in Pasadena, Texas. He served in the US Navy from 1983-1996.

He married Dianne Mueller in 1984, and they raised six children on the east coast (Groton CT, Norfolk VA, Kings Bay GA). After retiring from the US Navy in 1996, Daniel relocated his family to Asheville, NC where he was employed as a maintenance technician at Charles George VA Medical Center til 2002. Daniel enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and using his mechanical skills.

Surviving are his six children, Jon (wife Stacey, children Tristan, Ava, Sophia, and Olivia); Jason (wife Lianna), Andrea, Sarabeth (children Isaiah, Autumn, and Skylar); Brittany (children Jack and Adalet); Michael (daughter Emali); his former wife and mother to his children, Dianne, and his siblings, Michelle and Peanut. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald, and partner Wanda. A private burial and memorial service will be held at Western Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
