Gary Alan Wilcox, 63, of Statesville, NC, passed away on July 10, 2018, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Black Mountain. He was born in Hollywood, CA, on May 3, 1955. After serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War, he moved from Florida to Statesville.

He shared a house with his cousin Neal Adkins and attended Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn Wilcox of Burbank, CA, mother Edith Caldwell Horn of Cool Spring, NC, and brother Stephen Wilcox of New York, NY. He is survived by his brother Roy Wilcox (Sally) and sister Diane Strutz Bishop (Gary) of Knoxville, TN, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved dog Max.

Family and friends will meet at the North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 18, for a service with military honors. The family would like to thank the staff at the State Veterans Home in Black Mountain for giving Gary such excellent, compassionate care at their beautiful facility.
