Former Conneaut resident Darlene K. Glus, 67, of Medina, passed away Saturday evening, June 9, 2018 at University Hospital in Cleveland. She was born May 8, 1951 in Conneaut, OH, and was the daughter of Edward and Bette (Snow) Metcalf. Darlene attended Conneaut High School for three years before graduating from St. John High School and had worked for Emco Wheaton for several years.

She was a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church in Fairlawn, Ohio. She enjoyed cooking, bike riding in the Cuyahoga Valley, gardening, RV camping, and traveling, especially numerous trips to Disney World. Most of all, she loved being a mom and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband Richard Glus, whom she married February 16, 1974 at St. Mary Catholic Church; her daughters Richelle (Adam Harbinak) Glus of N. Royalton, and Rebecca (Anthony Miller) Glus of Medina; her granddaughter Rylynn Miller; her brothers David Metcalf and Edward “Butch” Metcalf, both of Conneaut; and additional family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her in-laws Leonard and Jane Glus; and her brother-in-law James Glus. Memorial service will be at 11AM, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.

A celebration of life gathering will be held after the service from 12-3PM at the Marcy Family Center. Contributions may be made in Darlene’s memory to her family for her granddaughter Rylynn’s education. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
