Gary L. Dell, Sr., 80 of Conneaut passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Saturday July 7, 2018. He was born August 9, 1937 in Mapleton Depot, Pa, the son of Vernon & Joyce (Parks) Dell, Sr He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates as a catcher after he graduated from High School.

During training camp he injured his knee ending his career in baseball. Gary moved to Ohio to start a family. He worked for Rockwell International as a welder until they closed, he then worked for Foseco in Conneaut lastly working for Fuller Apts in Conneaut.

He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, camping, and farming, but most of all he loved spending time with his greatgrandchildren and talking with his buddy Fred. Survivors include his children, Cheri (Fred) Getce of Ashtabula, Gary Dell, Jr of Mentor and; grandchildren, Tiffany (Shawn) Braden, Angela (Chris) Ross, Jaime Bowen, Brittany and Riley Dell; great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Jonah, Madisyn and Emma; siblings, Max (Rita) Dell of South Williamsport, Pa and Larry Dell of York, Pa and Ellen Miller of McVeytown, Pa; sister in law, Betty Dell of Conneaut and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Patricia Dell, grandson Shawn Smith and a brother Vernon “Red” Dell, Jr. A private gathering will be held by the family at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
