Darlia’s Obituary Darlia Jean Bennett, 57, of Hagerstown, left this world on Tuesday morning, February 26, 2019, at her home, due to a life of health issues. Born July 10, 1961 in Jamaica Queens, New York, she was the oldest of the late Richard Elwood and Leona Jean (Mason) Bennett of Hagerstown. She attended SHHS and later got her GED.

She went on to attend Hagerstown Community College. Darlia loved playing the piano, listening to music, dancing, and spending time with her friends. She is survived by her daughter, Daniela Lucille Smith; two sisters, Ruth and Crystal Bennett; a brother, David Bennett; two nephews, David Jr. and wife Kristi, Joshua Weaver; a niece, Nicole “Nikki” McCray and husband Mark; 4 great-nephews, Sawyer and Preston Bennett, Wade and Dean McCray; a great niece, Gillian Bennett; two special aunts, Betty and Mariam “Bunny”; and numerous cousins.

Darlia is also survived by her companion, Ted Williams and special friend, Charlie Morrow. The family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to the people and staff at Turning Point (Way Station), for their love and support they provided Darlia during her illness. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc., 1601 Pennsylvania Ave.

, Hagerstown, with Pastor William Divelbiss officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
