Darrell Hoover December 5, 1941 – February 21, 2019 Grandpa’s Obituary Darrell Dwane Hoover was born on December 5, 1941 in Lehigh, Iowa to parents Verl and Mabel (Ewing) Hoover. Darrell worked at Beckers Florist in Fort Dodge, Iowa for several years growing beautiful flowers before he retired in 1985 and later moved to Catoosa, Oklahoma. Darrell passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 21, 2019 surrounded by his children and grandchildren who he loved deeply.

His three boys and grandchildren meant the world to him. He valued the time with them and enjoyed telling stories of the past and causing trouble for Grandma Dianne. He was always looking for mischief to get into with his grandkids and great grandkids.

Whether it was ice cream before dinner, Pepsi in a baby bottle or covering the windows with crafts and sheets of freshly crayoned works of art, he knew how to make the best memories with the kids. Grandpa Darrell was someone the kids could call for anything, he was always available for them. He was everyone’s best friend especially his own three boys.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents Verl and Mabel, brother Leroy Hoover, sisters Arlys Knudsen and Leone Bruns, and grandson Matthew Hoover. Survivors include spouse Dianne Summers, sons, Louis (Carmen) Hoover, Verl Hoover and Robert Hoover. Grandchildren include Jessy (Marita) Hoover, Joey Hoover, Brandy (Mark) Ridley, Breanna (Dylan) Henderson, Cheyenne Brown, Angel Hoover and honorary grandson Larry Potter.

Great grandchildren include Bentleigh Hoover, Jamarian Ficklin, Evan Henderson, Kristin Henderson and Axel Hoover, Samuel Hoover. Brothers and sisters include Vernon (Joanne) Hoover, Mervin (Alberta) Hoover, Larry (Sheryl) Hoover, Loren (Laina) Hoover, Bryan (Tanya) Hoover, Judy (Mike) Park, Cindy Hoover, and Marsha Hoover. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday February 26, 2019 at 1:00PM at the Rock House Church located at 20402 East Pine Street, Catoosa Oklahoma.

An additional memorial service will be held on Friday March 1, 2019 at 1:00PM at The Lions Den at 731 Exposition Drive, Fort Dodge Iowa.
