Obituary for Darryl J. Adams, Sr. Darryl J. Adams, 64, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2019. Born April 28, 1954, in Berea, Ohio, he was the son of Jeanne (Price) Adams and the late Glenn Adams. He is survived by his wonderful wife, Laura (Vega) Adams, and their son, Darryl J. Adams, Jr., both of Cheyenne; his brother, David Adams and his wife, Sandra, of Milroy, PA; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Daniel Adams, and Dan’s wife, Diane. Darryl attended Chief Logan High School and graduated from Lewistown-Granville High School in 1972. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and worked as a civil engineer maintaining base infrastructure.
While serving over twenty years in the Air Force, he had assignments in Nevada, Michigan and Wyoming, and he was also stationed overseas in South Korea and Okinawa, Japan. After retiring from the military, he made his home in Cheyenne. Darryl then graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Computer Science which he put to use as a program writer for a satellite communications company.
Darryl’s hobbies were hunting and gold prospecting in the wilds of Wyoming, and he was a member of Gold Prospectors of America. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Military honors will be presented on Tuesday, January 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home with a reception to immediately follow at the Schrader Reception Center.
