David “Big Dave” Wayne Meredith, Sr., age 70, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 2:13 a.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at home. Big Dave was born April 18, 1948, in Evansville, IN, to Herman and Stella Dove (Simms) Meredith. He attended Harrison High School and served in the United States Army.

Big Dave was a member of the Local 561 Engineer Union for 25 years and a member of the VFW Post 2953. He enjoyed growing tomato plants and he loved his dog, Scrappy Do. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Sharon (Mosby) Meredith; daughter, Lisa Meredith; step-daughter, Jessica Dillman; son, David Meredith, Jr.; step-son, Michael Mosby (Nikki); first wife, Linda Meredith; sisters, Oneida Hill, Judy Mason (Ray), and Joyce Meredith; and brothers, Hermon Meredith, Jr. (Peggy) and Mike Meredith (Janet); grandchildren, Brodie Dillman, Maddie, Myla, and Mia Mosby; brothers-in-law, Bobby Dan and David Mosby; sisters-in-law, Linda Mosby, Gwen Smith, and Mary Ann Davis.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Stella Ellis; and brothers, Kenneth Meredith, Charles Meredith, and Bill Meredith. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Anthony Young officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL. Memorial Contributions may be made to: Heart to Heart Hospice at 415 East 6th Street, Jasper, IN 47546.
