Maurice Woolsey, age 87, of Winslow, IN, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:20 p.m. EST on January 4, 2019, at home. Maurice was born December 19, 1931, in Evansville, IN, to Valoris T. and Gladys I. (Corn) Woolsey. He served his country both in the Korean War as a member of the United States Army and for over 20 years in the National Guard.

Maurice attended Petersburg Nazarene Church. He retired from Whirlpool after 30 years of employment. Maurice was a past member of Lessing Masonic Lodge #464 and a member of Scottish Rite.

Maurice is survived by his wife of 15 years, Doris (Scarlett) Woolsey; daughter, Lisa Benton; stepdaughters, Kathy Kuhn, Vicki Wright, Madonna Darling and Stacey Siemantel; stepson, David DeBruler; grandchildren, Jerrod Williams, Brandon Williams and Melanie Benton; 7 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 6 step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 28 years, Nancy (See) Woolsey who passed away in 2003; daughter Cathy Williams; and brother, Boyd Woolsey. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Petersburg Nazarene Church, 118 W. Pike Avenue, Petersburgh, IN with Reverend David Warren officiating.

Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. EST until 2:00 p.m. EST, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Petersburg Nazarene Church. Memorial Contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements are being handled by Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN.
