Obituary for David Lee Stump David Lee Stump, 79, of Newburg, passed away on the morning of Monday, January 21, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born Monday, December 25, 1939 in Dillsburg, he was a son of the late Delma L. and Barbara Clepper Stump. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

He was a lifelong truck driver with 65 years of service, and for the past 25 years, owned and operated Stump Transportation Service. David was a member of the Newburg United Methodist Church. He served on the Newburg Borough Council, and was a member of the Owner Operator Independent Driver Association.

He enjoyed going on cruises, bicycling, jogging, golfing, swimming, and going to the beach. David loved and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. David is survived by two daughters, Donna J. (Lawrence) Fettig, Jacksonville, FL.

, and Diane K. (Terry) Cline, St. Thomas; two sons, David “Larry” (Gretchen) Stump, Chambersburg, and Daryl M. (Sheila) Stump, Dumfries, VA; three sisters, Martha Schadle, Gloria Fish, and Miriam Pierce; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Maye Wagner Stump, who passed away June 30, 1986, and one brother, Marvin Wayne Stump. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, with the Rev.

Margaret H. Spengler officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223 Minutemen. A viewing will be held Sunday, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday, in the funeral home.
