Obituary for Kathleen W. “Kathy” Sands (Walton) Kathleen (Kathy) Walton Sands, 66, of Shippensburg, Pa (previously of Bird-in-Hand, Pa and Burlington NJ) passed away on January 2, 2019 at home, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer and its complications. She was born August 10, 1952in Mt. Holly, NJ to the late Clarence K. and Isabel C. Walton of Burlington, NJ and later of Shippensburg, Pa.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth E. Sands, of Shippensburg; a daughter, Jennifer L. Sands, Hummelstown, Pa; and son Jeremy W. Sands husband of Katie (Holtry) Sands of Shippensburg. Kathy is also survived by the grandchildren she adored, Adelyn Kate Sands, and twins Aidan Eugene Sands and Bryson Paul Sands of Shippensburg, as well as a nephew, David Mattera of New York, NY. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Nancy Gaunt, of Deltona FL.

A viewing will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. 112 West King Street, Shippensburg, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. A memorial and celebration of life service will be held at the same location on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 2PM, with the Rev. Harold E. Yeager officiating.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathy’s memory may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, 3908 Corey Rd. , Harrisburg, Pa 17109 or www.
